Fresh and citrus scents fade first. Woody and vanilla scents stay longer.
Every perfume is built from notes. Some evaporate in minutes. Others stay on your skin for hours.
The light, fresh notes you smell first are the top notes. Citrus and florals are gone the quickest.
The notes that stay are the base notes. Vanilla, wood, sandalwood, cedarwood and oud last longer on the skin.
So a fresh citrus scent will usually fade sooner than a warm vanilla one.

Dry skin lets go of a scent sooner
Moisturised skin holds fragrance a lot longer. Dry skin holds it for less time.1
So the same scent can last longer on a friend with oilier skin than it does on you.
The fix is simple. Put on an unscented lotion first, or a lotion in the same scent, then spray.

Your nose stops noticing a scent you're wearing
After a while, your brain gets used to a smell that's always around you. It stops telling you about it.2

Where and how you spray changes how long it lasts
- Spray your pulse points, like your wrists and neck. The skin is thinnest there, close to your body heat.
- Tap your wrists together after you spray. Rubbing makes the top notes burn off quicker.
- Spray straight after a shower. The steam helps open up the scent.
- Layer it over a scented lotion or body oil to make the scent stronger.

A new bottle needs 2 to 4 weeks to rest
When a new Scentimental bottle arrives, put it at the back of a drawer for 2 to 4 weeks.
That gives all the ingredients in the formula time to blend together. The longer it stands, the better it smells.
Keep it somewhere cool and dark, away from sunlight. Not in the bathroom.
